He criticizes England’s strict laws and depicted the corrupted society in contrast by building a world which is opposite to the society of Europe. He opposed the King Henry VIII breaking away from Roman Catholic Church. In his book Utopia, More satirizes the socio-political and religious hypocrisy of Europe during the time. More was a humanist where he embraces classical thoughts of Aristotle and Plato. Thomas More’s Utopia was written in Latin but later translated to English in 1551.
